Hornets Tickets
The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets are a
professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. They play
in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team temporarily
relocated to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons
due to damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. They also temporarily adopted
the moniker "New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets" although originally
deciding to use "New Orleans Hornets - Oklahoma City" and the final
decision came from Paul Mott - who later began to negotiate a sale of
the Hornets to OKC powerplayers behind George Shinn's back (Project
Beekeeper). Contrary to popular belief, the name change was not to thank
Oklahoma City for their support during this difficult time for the
greater New Orleans area because the change happened before a single
game was played. A special thank-you was accomplished through a single
game performance in which the Hornets wore uniforms with Oklahoma City
across the chest (where New Orleans should have been before Paul Mott
removed all references to New Orleans before the season started) for the
Ford Center finale.
