Jerry Seinfeld
Jerry
Seinfeld was already a success as a stand-up comedian when he co-created
the hit TV sitcom Seinfeld in 1990. In the show Seinfeld played himself,
a single comic in New York coping with the trivialities of modern life.
(The show co-starred Michael Richards as Kramer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as
Elaine, and Jason Alexander as George Costanza.) The show became a huge
hit for NBC, but Seinfeld called it quits in 1998 while he was still
earning some of TV's best ratings and reviews. In the late 1990s
Seinfeld dated teenager Shoshanna Lonstein, making him a popular topic
for tabloid newspapers. In 1999 he married Jessica Sklar and the next
year the couple had a daughter, Sascha.
