The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. They are currently members of the Southern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Texans joined the NFL as a 2002 expansion team. The city's previous franchise, the Houston Oilers, moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1997 and changed their name to the Tennessee Titans. Reliant Stadium is part a collection of venues (including the Reliant Astrodome), which are collectively called, Reliant Park. The stadium was designed and built for two major tenants, the NFL Houston Texans expansion team and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The entire complex is named for Reliant Energy under a 32-year, $300-million naming rights deal in 2000.
