Philadelphia Eagles

The construction of Lincoln Financial Field began on May 7th, 2001. A little less than 28 months later, the stadium hosted its first event, a soccer match between Manchester United, and FC Barcelona on August 3rd, 2003. The “Inaugural Game” at Lincoln Financial Field, on Monday, Sept. 8, featured the Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lincoln Financial Field, familiarly known as "The Linc", is the home stadium of the National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles. It has a seating capacity of 68,532. The stadium was named in June of 2002, when Lincoln Financial Group paid $139.6 million for the naming rights over the next 21 years. The field is located in South Philadelphia on Pattison Avenue between 11th and 10th Streets, closer to the area's stretch of Interstate 95 than to Pattison.  The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most exciting football franchises in the NFL today. NFC Champs from 2001 to 2004, the Eagles have made the playoffs every year since 2000, and  were narrowly defeated 24-21, in the 2004 Super Bowl XXXIX versus the New England Patriots.
